Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask Bija

Innisfree is the baby company of the big wig of Korean skincare and cosmetics, Amorepacific. They focus on creating products that are natural, and healthy for the skin, and for the environment. As of 2015, the Innisfree issued a campaign to help the our planet, mama earth. Their campaign, called the 2015 Innisfree Green Promise, has three parts - The Green Eco Campaign, Natural Ingredients (at least 70%), and Donating a percent of their annual profit "to neighbors", as they called it. Many of their ingredients are from the island of Jeju, where, I hear, has choice weather, and soil for plants. I also hear that it is a great tourist destination. I've seen a few Innisfree commercials, and let me tell you, they make me want to go to Jeju island, walk around in a summer dress, sun hat, barefooted, and slowly twirl around in fields of yellow and green, and have petals fall around me. With Lee Min Ho. Did I mention Lee Min Ho was an Innisfree Ambassador/model? I'm not sure if he still is, but yes. I'd like that.

Hi (*doki*doki* goes my heart)

Bija , aka the Torreya Nucifera, comes from Jeju Island, of course, and grows on a tree.  They are a type of evergreen tree in the pine tree family. The This fruit is like the Korean version of Nutmeg. The oil is extracted from the Bija Seed, which is edible. The bija seed extract has great skin benefits for those with traoubled skin, or for anyone who is looking to sooth their skin. Innisfree has an entire line with this as it's main ingredient.

*excuse me while I ogle at LMH for a few seconds*

Ok... I'm back.

What does Bija/Nutmeg do?
The main functions of bija are anti-inflammatorion, and acne and boil treatment.

Other ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethanol, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Bija Oil(1mg), Sodium Hyaluronate, Tangerine Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, The green Tea Extract, Camellia Leaf Extract, Prickly Pear Extract, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

Claims:
Innisfree claims that this sheet mask will do just what I mentioned above, it will serve as an anti-inflam, will help clear the skin, and is free of parabens, synthetic colorants, mineral oil, animal originated ingredient, imidazolidinyl urea, and artificial fragrances.

The Mask:
The mask is made of 3 layers, the top layer being artificial silk, this gives the mask a higher absorption rate. It's a bit on the long side. I can even fold the bottom part of the mask to cover my entire chin.

The Serum:
The serum was a clear to opaque liquid serum, that has a scent. To me, it smells woodsy, and a bit cirtusy. The mask does have alcohol in it, but I'd like to guess, maybe this is naturally fermented alcohol, and for a sheet mask, there was A LOT of serum. It was soaked and dripping when I pulled the mask out from the pack.

How to Use:
This is what I do; it's not the instructions on thewebsite, or on the pack.
  1. Cleanser to wash face
  2. Toner to tone face
  3. Exfoliate, you can skip this
  4. Take out sheet mask and place on face
  5. Leave it on for 30-40 minutes (real instructions say to leave it on for 10-20 minutes)
  6. Remove mask from the chin, and up
  7. Pat remaining serum on my skin
  8. Use night cream
  9. go to bed

My thoughts:
I used this mask twice. Once, when I was just curious about it, and the other when I had a small patch of redness and a few pimples that looked like they really wanted to say hello.

The first time I used this, I kept this on for about 40 minutes, making sure my skin gets all it can get. My skin felt hydrated, but I didn't see any good or bad results. No improvement on the pimples.

Two weeks later, pimples still on my forehead, I decided to use this again, to see if the first try was a fluke. Meh, maybe I did it wrong. I was eager to see if this will help. After 40 minutes, I took it off, and saw the redness had gone down, though the pimples were still peeking through a bit. When I try sheet masks or any other serums, I try not to use it with too many products. Tonight, I only cleansed my face, toned, slapped this on for 40 minutes, and after, lightly massaged my night cream over the left over serum. The next day, I was surprised to see the inflamed skin had gone down, but not significantly. No break outs, and no skin irritation.

Extra Note:
According to Innisfree, Bija seed can be used only after the tree has survived 20 years in the wild.
