I have been using two of Keep Cool's products in the past two weeks or so, and I must say it's been a pleasure. These products were provided to me by Credithink, which you can find on Amazon.
First The company: Keep Cool. This Korean Beauty Line is from the company as Adaline, their Mother Company. This line has been widely popular in both New York City, and Hong Kong, as well as Malaysia.
Packaging: the Keep Cool line is very Scandinavian chic. I love it. Cute, Clean lines, and simple.
The first skincare product I want to start with is the cleansing water called, Keep Cool and Soothe Water.
Consistency: of the Keep Cool and Soothe Water is light (unlike other cleansing waters), absorbs beautifully into the skin, and is great for the absorption of essences, and serums into the skin. It does not leave any residue, and is great as either a cleansing water, or toner, and it's pH level between a 5.5-6.
Ingredients:
Purified Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Chloride, Hexylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Thuja Orientalis Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA. -this is from the Amazon page.
I love that it has Honeysuckle, which is one of my fave ingredients used in skincare. This can be used as an antimicrobial, and it's been said that it is a natural preservative, which gives the Keep Cool and Soothe Water a more safe and stable shelf life. Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract is also an anti-inflammatory, and is GREAT in calming skin.
Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract or Baikal Skullcap Root Extract is a potent antioxidant, and it also helps with brightening the skin (not whitening, but brightening). The plants looks like a cross between honeysuckles and a bluebells. Super pretty.
Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, I've read, is an antioxidant, and in Chinese remedies, this was used for fever, and an anti inflammatory. Itis commonly used with honeysuckle flower extract.
The one thing I found a bit weird is the Thuja Orientalis, which I have read is suppose to help with hair growth. I have not seen any kind of hair growth, but if I grow a bread...all over my face, I will DEFINITELY let you all know. I'm not worried, though.
Keep Cool ingredients are "natural", does not contain perfumes, and are focused more on dry, dull, and sensitive skin, though I think their skincare products are great for all skin types. I mean, it has Phyto Greens in it, which is great for the detoxification. It's always great to find a product that has ingredients that has low none to very low irritants. There are two that may cause acne, but I really don't think it's too much of a problem.
Phyto Greens are, from what I've read, vitamins, fiber, chlorophyll, minerals and/or antioxidants. They can derived from herbs, fruits, vegetables, and possibly mushrooms. Some have ingredients such as Barley, Green papaya, Alfalfa, Tomato, Kale, and Raspberry. They are used in supplements as a detoxification, specifically the GI tract, and to nourish the immune system, due to fatigue and high stress.
On Amazon, the description says it is a micellar cleansing water. On the bottle, on the bottom of the front label, it says that is is a Phyto Green Shower Cleansing Water. Not sure what they mean about the Shower part, I do know that the only time I have ever heard or seen the words Phyto Green is when I am in the vitamin aisle at the grocery store or pharmacy.
My Thoughts: The Soothe water reminds me a bit of the Son and Park's Beauty water, which I LOVE. No, I am not doing a comparison review, but I think it's easier to have a baseline product. For me, a great baseline product in the cleansing/toner category, is The Beauty Water. The big difference between the two are the ingredients and pricing. My takeaway on it, is that it cleanses the skin, and detoxes it. I also have not had one bad reaction from this product, at all. Highly recommend.
My rating: this is a 5 out of 5 for me.
